Those interested in joining the Society may choose between two membership categories – Full membership or Associate membership. Those who choose to receive the Full membership package are required to pay an annual membership fee of $20, while those who choose to receive limited benefits may register for the Associate membership. The benefit packages of each membership category are listed below, and the Society Membership policy can be accessed here.

Full Society members (dues paying members) will receive:

  • Access to a member directory of health professionals in the Society who can serve as resources and collaborators for job searches, professional development, making the most of your current job, and provide overall professional advice;
  • Access to the Mentoring Program and the opportunity to serve as either a mentee or mentor. The program allows for the creation of vital relationships with others in the field;
  • Access to all Society events including speaker panels featuring experts from all aspects and sides of the health arena, professional development activities including workshops on effective presentation skills, resume writing, and how to establish and enhance a career in the health sector, networking opportunities, and community service activities;
  • Access to a monthly newsletter featuring upcoming events, event recaps, job listings, the latest news in health policy, biographical sketches of professional peers, book reviews, and other pertinent health-related news;
  • Access to our newly designed website including job listings, a full list of upcoming Society events, as well as those outside our organization, community service activities, discussion group forums, a resources page featuring tips on applying to jobs, health-related websites, and health certification resources;
  • Monthly happy hours with a relaxed atmosphere to network and meet peers, prospective health policy partners, and experts in the field;
  • Discounts on memberships to health and health policy organizations and conferences;

Associate Society members (non-dues paying members) will receive:

  • Access to portions of our website, including upcoming event information and access to the resources page (Associate members will not have access to the jobs database and member directory);
  • Monthly happy hours with a relaxed atmosphere to network and meet peers, prospective health policy partners, and experts in the field;v
  • Access to a limited version of the monthly newsletter, which will include information on upcoming events, but exclude job listings, health policy news, book reviews, and biographical sketches of professional peers;
  • The opportunity to serve as a mentor in our Mentoring Program.
