With a late Sunday night vote, the House approved the Health Reform bill, making this the largest legislative overhaul of health care since the passage of Medicaid and Medicare! But, people are far from being done talking about it!
“Death panels” vs. “cost-effectiveness research.” “Bending the cost curve” vs. “government-run health care.” “Public right” vs.“individual responsibility.” The terms that resonated during the health care debate are steeped in politically motivated, carefully-crafted, focus-group tested messaging strategies from all sides of the debate. Join us as we hear about spinning health care from some of the leading political minds in domestic health policy, including:
- Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former Chief Economic Policy Adviser to Sen. John McCain’s 2008 Presidential campaign, long-time Republican Advisor
- Celinda Lake, President of Lake Research Partners, one of the Democratic Party’s leading political strategists and pollsters
They'll share their insight into the messaging behind the health reform debate, and predictions on what is yet to come. Remember, this is the last event that is free and open to the public! Future Guest Speaker events will be for members only, so sign up today at www.dchealthpolicy.org or register at the panel.
